Some are a breeze while some are extremely difficult to get a gold medal on. Each one has different missions and objectives you have to complete. The world has traffic, street lights and even some places you can access. There is a huge world outside of the tiny battle dome you start in. It is more of a single player mode but still very enjoyable. If you crash more than a certain number of times, you fail the mission.ĭrift City has a decent RPG side to it. You have a time limit and sometimes even a crash limit. Some deliveries are actually very challenging.
Each delivery you make gives you XP and Mittron. You also get hired as a Delivery Person early in the game. You can drive around in the city getting quests from different stations.
When I started this game, I thought it be a "Do as many races as you can in a day" kind of game but I was proven wrong. There is a lot of ways to earn Mittron (the currency in Drift City) and XP which insures that you will always have something to do. The only complaint for graphics I might have is the time change in the game. You can easily run Drift City on almost any computer. They have more of a cartoon feel to them rather than a realistic feel. They are very different from the best selling racing games like Gran Turismo or Need for speed. Your car is running faster, cleaner and longer! The world leaders are taking advantage of this resource and decide to start importing it. You try it out in a car and it you realize, that its pure steroids for your car. Mittron! This new resource powers every mode of transportation. You magically find a new island with this amazing resource on it. You are in the future and you have no oil. The game offers a lot of unique content, some of which are: Leveling up your character, customizing vehicles, racing with other players, doing missions, and doing quests, a delivery service, instances and much more.ĭrift City, unlike most MMO racing games, has a story. Drift City is also known as Skid Rush in Korea. Its unique play style gives it variety while still maintaining the racing game aspect. This version could use some more fixing on issues that the mobile one similarly had.Drift City, now owned by Games Campus is a Cell Shaded Online racing game combined with RPG elements. The main menu and user interface aren’t great, either, and there’s no tutorial to properly introduce new players to drift racing. This needs better car sound design to help you recognize gear shifts, though. The realistic physics and driving techniques actually affect your car, which is where a compatible controller helps.

Gameplay-wise, Torque Drift on PC is still great. Unfortunately, the user interface is unintuitive. When competing on PvP, you only face off against the highest record of another player and not an actual live opponent, so there’s no need to worry about your unstable internet connection. However, some of them require you to be at a certain level. You can choose which stages you’d like to enter on the world map. You have four modes available: Freestyle, Events, Local Play, and Streaming. However, the engine sound effects are inaccurate. Mostly everything is realistic, like the smoke effects and how the track obstacles can be damaged. However, the race tracks’ environments look blurry. The models for the cars and car parts themselves are gorgeous, especially for the DLC vehicles and the interior view.
